I’m a tall woman whose thighs and tush are rather “thick,” and that means finding leggings that fit is nearly impossible. I’ve tried all sorts of leggings, from sportswear specifically designed for “large women” to fashion leggings from places like Lane Bryant, only to be disappointed by the style, quality, and fit. Leggings for “tall” women are always too tight around my thighs and tush because manufacturers believe that if you’re tall you must be supermodel thin. The leggings made for “curvy women” are inevitably too short for my long limbs and, strangely, pull and tug at the seat and thighs to the point that the fabric is almost transparent. Even at my thinnest, I had trouble with finding leggings that fit … forget about cute prints!
My dear friend, Goth Gardner, wrote a post a few weeks ago highlighting her legging collection. She mentioned that her leggings come from a company called LuLaRoe, whose products are sold by consultants much in the same way as Avon or Jamberry. I have to admit, I’m envious of Goth Gardener’s leggings because she always finds the greatest Halloween prints and because she can fit into the damned things beautifully. I honestly didn’t think the company’s “tall and curvy” leggings would fit me, so I forgot about it.
Imagine my luck when a new friend asked me to a LuLaRoe home party! Finally, a chance to try on those adorable leggings that Goth Gardner gushed about. I was skeptical and ready for disappointment … when lo and behold, THEY FIT LIKE A GLOVE. Holy smokes! And they’re extremely well-made AND butter soft! I was floored by LuLaRoe’s leggings, dresses, t-shirts, etc. and ended up buying quite a bit that night. Seriously, leggings that fit!!! I am happy to say that they’ve been laundered a number of times — washed on cold and hung dry — and they’ve kept their shape, stretch, and color. There’s no stress in the seams and they feel softer than the day I bought them. I am so happy that I finally found leggings that fit!
And the shoes that I’m wearing? They’re from Hot Chocolate Design and are 100% vegan. The upper is made from a silky printed fabric and the soles are rubber, making for a super comfortable shoe. I adore HCD simply because they aren’t the “run of the mill” shoe maker; rather, they are artsy, weird, and cute … just like me.
